Whip Your Hair Like A Real Supermodel

My sister and I love to take photos on random days. We usually do this on weekends since this is the only time we get together. We'll put on random outfits and take turns on taking each other's photos. For this particular weekend, I decided to rock the plain on print trend.

Black top on printed skirt
I'm wearing a Kashieca top, leopard printed skirt from Forever 21, my sister's bag and floppy hat, and her Forever 21 shoes. I really love this skirt! I love checking on the racks of Forever 21 and find really great items at rock bottom prices.

Where the wind blows is where I go
In the streets of Laguna
Red nails against a tan and black suede patforms
My sister has a thing for floppy hats recently. I love that this accessory is a multi-tasker.  It covers your hair to prevent it from getting burned by the sun when you're out and it looks really great too. You can wear it at the beach or on weekend markets. The leopard skirt screams sexy so I tamed it down with the requisite black top. This Kashieca luxe black top is embellished with stones so you can wear it at night, it can work at dayshift too, just pair with shorts or your stovepipe jeans and heels and you're good to go.

Loving the floppy hat
Trying to look sweet and innocent with a flower in my ear
I love wearing heels since it instantly perks up my mood, makes me look long and lean, and makes me feel sexy all at the same time. When I feel down, I just put on my highest heels. As they say, the higher the heel, the better I feel!

Dramatic sunlight
Drama, drama, drama!
Sunlight is a good backdrop, I swear!

Philippine Fashion Week Day 5

The 5th day of the Philippine Fashion Week was indeed a busy night.  The show we were about to watch was scheduled at 9:30 PM. I had a meeting at 7 to 8 PM so just imagine how I had to hurry up to go home and change clothes, do my makeup, and hurry up to SMX for the show.  During the 5th day, I decided to wear a sheer black top together with my leopard print bondage skirt.

I wore my hair up and put on a pair of chandelier earrings.
The patterned skirt popped out against the black top.  The plain black color of my sheer polo makes for a great backdrop for my leopard print skirt.  Pattern always looks amazing against a plain background.  I grabbed my oversized clutch and put on a pair of blue chandelier earrings.  Accesorizing is a major part of dressing up, as Rachel Zoe puts it: Excessorize baby!!

My lovely sister wearing a maxi dress
My sister, who adores florals and everything feminine wore her new maxi dress, her floral Forever 21 mary janes, gray earrings, and her chain bag.  She's too dainty to say the least.  She's in love with florals, chiffon, chain bag a la Chanel, and everything lolita-esque.  Unlike me who is very urban and kind of bold in my sartorial choices, her definition of fash fashion choices are the dainty and dreamy ones.  It's a good thing actually, since we have a diverse collection of fashion pieces.

Us with the gorgeous and super down to earth, Divine Lee
We've spotted Divine Lee after the show. We were so glad we were able to take a photo with her.  She's amazingly gorgeous with limbs that go on like forever! I adore her sartorial fashion choices, she's not afraid to experiment with looks, her beckyness is a plus factor to her beauty.  Can't believe she's so nice!

With Angel, my good friend. :)

This is my favorite shot. Thanks Angel for the pic. :)
We were actually late for the show.  All of the guests are inside the room when we came in. Thank God, we were still able to get seats for the three of us.  I attended the 5th day with my sister and my good friend, Angel.  Isn't it amazing to have friends who share your passion? :)

My sister and me. :)
I'm so in love with Philippine Fashion now! Michele Sison, one of the designers for the Premiere A collection said she loves the skirt I was wearing that night. I am so flattered to get such compliment from an amazing designer like her!

Philippine Fashion Week Day 3

Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 Collection was held last week, May 8 to 15, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center.  I attended the week-long event together with my sister, who is a fashion worshipper just like me.  I love that I share my fasyon interest with my sister.  We were able to secure tickets for the Day 3 to 6 shows.  For the 3rd day, I decided to rock a lolita-cum-tough chic look.

I wore my sister's floral tube top with my jeans, gladiator platforms, and my trusted LV Neverfull bag.

I came straight from work that night, I actually came from a meeting with a client so just imagine how much little time I had to change outfit and do my makeup and hair.  I decided to wear my hair down since I'm wearing a tube top to avoid too much skin exposure. I paired the top with my trusted pair of jeans to give the outfit a less girly feel and top it off with my favorite Zara platforms.  I brought my LV Neverfull bag with me since I was feeling to bring a roomy bag that night.

My fabulous sister wore her chiffon F21 dress with a fedora hat and her trusted heels.
My sister, who is a devoted girly-girl, wore her Forever 21 chiffon dress together with a fedora hat (a gift from her boyfriend), her Forever 21 platforms, chain bag from SM Department Store, Jones New York cardigan, and her thrifted necklace.

My sister and I. :)
I love that I have a fabulous sister to share my passion for fashion.  We share clothes, accessories, fashion tips, and even shoes (at times) although we don't share the same size.  I think we got this love for all things fabulous from our dad.  Isn't it weird to get this trait from your father, instead of getting it from your mom? Haha!

We spotted Sarah Meier at the fashion show! She looks gorgeous in that floor-sweeping number!
Watching the PFW not only means eye candy on the runway, the people at the front row are really pleasing to the eyes as well.  We spotted Preview Magazine's Editor in Chief Pauline Suaco-Juan, Fashion Ed Daryl Chang, MTV VJ and model Sarah Meier, socialites Divine Lee with bf Victor Basa, Vicky Herrera, bag designer Amina Aranaz-Alunan together with sister Rosanna Aranaz, Tessa Prieto-Valdes, and Crystal Henares to name a few.

I decided to wear pink as the color of makeup for the night.  I am usually spotted wearing smokey eyes with pale lips and zero cheek blush.  But for this event, I tried applying pink blush on my cheeks and realized it makes me look healthy and flushed. That's why I am always going for the pink cheeks look!

Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 collection is indeed an affair to remember. Watching the models sashayed down the runway gives me chills, seeing the creations of designers is like heaven for me. Philippine Fashion is really something, us Filipinos, should be proud of.

Vintage Lovin

There's always this classy and feel-good vibe of wearing vintage.  It's like wearing a piece of history.  Rummaging through my lola, mom, and auntie's closets always scores me a piece or two of amazing pieces.  This time, an aunt's dress found its way into my hands.  I just had it customized to fit my size and customized to my preferred hem length.

The vintage dress from an aunt
I just accessorized it with a scarf from Trucco, platforms from Zara, bag from London, belt from SM Department Store, and a bright lip. I decided not to wear necklace, cocktail ring, or bangles since it will overwhelm the whole look.
The red lip pops out because of the color of the dress.
The bamboo trees make for a great background since it makes the color of the entire outfit pop out. I love that nature is very fashion-friendly.

The scarf is one of the most versatile items in a woman's closet. It can transform into a pashmina to keep you covered and warm, into a cover-up when you're at the beach, into a bag accessory for a fashionable take on the leather essential, or into a turban (just like what I did for this post) to cover your hair from the harmful rays of the sun (or to just look fasyon).
Who would have thought that the once blah dress will look so chic when altered.
I love the versatility of the platforms.  It goes great with a dress, with jeans, with short shorts, or with a skirt.

Dresses instantly make me feel sexy, chic, and confident that's why this is the most used and versatile item in my closet. I just can't get enough of them.
