Chiffon and Pink Cotton is Sweet

September 23, 2011
Friday, Espalanade, SG

Pink is not in my list of favorite colors, nor girly and sweet is not my style. I am always in dark colors. Black, preferably, is my favorite color along with fiery red and passionate purple. Urban and sexy is my style. And because I'm in the corporate world, I am required to dress in a corporate manner, thus pencil skirts and tulip dresses found their way in my closet. I always try to inject a fashionable and chic appeal in the way I dress even if I am at work. And for this particular post, since I will be doing a lot of walking, I decided to dress up in an easy manner.

I decided to leave the top tucked out of the pink ruched skirt to give it a more lazy and easy feel. I just put on my flats and off I go. Sometimes, it's fun to dress down especially on lazy days or on those days that you know you'll need to do a lot of roaming around.  Well, this day is one of those days.
I had my hair cut before I left Manila. Rachel Zoe was my peg since I was reading her book that day and thought that long hair with soft layers is the look I wanna go for. This hair style is such an easy do to don. You can just let your hair down and air dry it or you may want to put it up in a messy chignon which is very Kate Moss kind of sexy.

Sheer Leopard and Jeans

August 29, 2011
Monday afternoon, at home

My sister and I will be on our way to Manila to get our things in our condo since she will be working home-based starting September and I will be flying to Singapore on the 18th.  Before her boyfriend picks us up, we decided to take some snapshots for a new blog post. I purchased this sheer leopard print top last Friday since I don't have anything to wear for a night out. This is actually a sheer cardigan and I just put three safety pins to make it a deep V-neck top. Here's the result:

Prints and Color Make Me Feel Good

August 20, 2011
Saturday, at home

Prints and colors are my thing. I love black and white though but I have to agree that colors make the world (and us) beautiful. It brings out the color of our eyes, the color of our hair, the sheen of our skin tone, and the beauty of our faces. Colors go together with prints. I particularly love this ikat printed skirt from TopPicks Couture. I paired it with my sheer black top to tone down the color and print. I love turquoise blue, it instantly warms up olive skin tones. Here's my outfit on a lazy Saturday afternoon:

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick Launch

Estee Lauder has been one of the makeup brands that I practically grew up with.  I remember trying on its lipsticks and the requisite Estee Lauder Pleasures fragrance when I was little.  So when we were invited to the media lunch of its Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick, we were so thrilled to come.  We braved the storm and came in our coral dresses.

My sister and I at the launch
The launch was held at Opus Bar and Lounge in Resorts World Manila. TV personality Issa Litton, DJ and TV host Grace Lee, recording artist Isabella, and Brazilian beauty Priscilla Meirelles graced the event to present Estee Lauder's new line of lipsticks.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick has True Vision Technology which takes ordinary color and makes it extraordinary. During the launch, guests were invited to try out the lipsticks.  I tried on the coral shade.  It's velvety, perfect for night-outs with the girls, and the plus factor is it's long lasting.  It will practically survive through rounds of cocktails when you're out with the girls.

Trying on the coral shade (coz it matches my dress) :)

Loving the color on my lips

I arrived in my coral Forever 21 dress, my red patent peep-toe Celine shoes, a huge beige clutch I got from 50th Avenue, and my gold earrings. I decided to wear my hair up in a chic bun to keep the attention focused on the dress.  I call this my "Carrie Bradshaw" dress since it reminds me of one of Carrie's outfits in Sex and the City 2.  It has the same design and silhouette with that of Carrie's vintage Halston dress.  I just love the electric pleats detail of the dress 'cause it actually sways through my every move.

I just love the color of this cocktail - it looks like a shade of lipstick

I love that we were able to meet fellow fashion bloggers and people from magazines too.  It's such a nice feeling to meet people who share the same passion with you.

It was a fun event despite of the gloomy weather outside.  Opus Bar and Lounger were filled with makeup-loving people that night. Make sure to visit Estee Lauder in the following locations: Rustans Makati, Rustans Shangri-La, Rustans Alabang, Rustans Gateway, Rustans Cebu, and Marionnaud in Mall of Asia.
